The trial and tribulations of a Sr. Software Engineer continues..

I'm feeling pretty surly today. The so-called "Project Manager" has planned 3 meetings a week(2 hours per meeting) until 2/26/03 to discuss the business requirements for a project that will that maybe two weeks to implement.

The levels ineptitude and overall inefficiency are absolutely mind boggling.

The Dilbert Principals are in full effect. At one of the three meetings I was forced to endure today a Business Analyst read the requirement document(all ten pages) aloud.

I'm pretty sure everyone in the meeting was literate, yet she continued to read away.

The Natural/Adabas is weak, holding on to that arcane technology is like the folks in the 18th Century who held onto their "Horse and Buggies". After all those new fangled motorized buggies would never catch on right?

What's Cool: Business Rule Engines, Java (with non-blocking IO), XML(Still) and ESB

What Sucks: EFML(Don't ask..), ColdFusionMX's Java integation, .Net Web Forms generated code, Visual Basic(Still)
